30 Parallel Games - Terra Alia

ROLE: TECH LEAD

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Getting all the beautiful art and detail working on a Quest 2 ​and 3, with a steady 72fps minimum
  • Managing and advising on best practices for asset creation
  • VFX creation and optimising
  • Major asset optimisations
  • Custom shading solutions
  • GPU powered baked vertex animation (for small groups of ​NPCs)
  • Baked Interactive Voxel illumination custom integration
  • Correct asset batching.
  • I was also Tech Lead in porting the PC version to the ​Nintendo Switch console, which was mostly the same role.

2019 - 2021

Virtuleap - Enhance

ROLE: 3D tech and generalist

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Keeping a steady 72fps performance on this awesome brain ​training app, for Quest 1, while keeping quality visuals.
  • 3D modelling, rigging, and texturing
  • Animation of Pico mascot, in-game, and trailers
  • VFX creation and optimisation
  • Custom shaders
  • Redesigned PICO, the mascot, adding hands and tweaks to ​make it more expressive.
  • Compositing and editing for the trailers, some with the ​insertion of PICO in real shots as CGI.

2017 - 2019

MediaInvest - Virtual Fair

ROLE: 3d TECH and general artist

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • A first person Virtual Fair, where, virtually, you can display your ​brand, by making custom booths through an editor.
  • 3D modelling, lighting, texturing
  • Asset optimisation, and setup of assets for texture streaming ​and customisation
  • Major asset batching, together with programming
  • Keeping the asset quality high and performant, even with the ​project’s modularity and the fairground’s ambitious scope.

2017

Bica Studios - PuzzlAR

ROLE: 3d TECH and general artist

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • An AR game where you assemble a miniature 3D puzzle, right ​in front of you.
  • 3D modelling, lighting, texturing
  • Rigging and animation of all assets
  • Light baking and custom shading solutions
  • Optimisation for the HoloLens, and port to iOS and Android.
